Gloria Williams, Founder/President, Grandparents N` Charge
Grandparents N` Charge started in the winter of 2014, and I officially obtained my Business Certificate on June 2, 2015.
I am the mother of three grown children and the grandmother of two grown grandchildren.
I started Grandparents N` Charge because I was parenting for the second time with my granddaughter who I have raised since the age of 2. She is now 19.
I had noticed that there are many grandparents raising grandchildren without any support system. So I decided to start my own business to help grandparents with the many struggles and lack of resources in parenting for the second time around, as the Founder/President of Grandparents N` Charge.
While holding a full time job I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate Volunteer/Guardian AD Litem, Advocate for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) as well as a Foster or Pre-Adoptive Family for Children in the care and custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).
I am an author who enjoys writing and reading books. As an author I wrote four books to use at workshops to Empower Grandparents. You can find them on amazon.com
I was the President of the Family Support Group for Airforce JRROTC, which my granddaughter have been a part of since ninth grade. She graduated June 2023 as a 2nd Lieutenant.
I have a support group for Grandparents on Meetup.com where I currently have 101 members that have joined the group called Grandparents Meetup Club. We meet monthly.
I’m a member of Generation United, Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce. I am a Hub Partner with All Our Kids, Inc., and I am part of the Western MA Foster Care Coalition with Treehouse Foundation.
I was chosen as the finalist for 2023 Remarkable Women for Western Massachusetts on March 15, 2023.
I’m a Certified Spin Instructor and have taught spin classes for over seven years and I enjoy teaching spin classes. I love to travel and spend time with my family.
